Testimonials

Peter Crabb, Project Manager, Watercare Waikato (August 2023)

In open return, we appreciate the work that J&R Contracting completed on the Waikato District Watermain Renewals Programme.  J&R worked collaboratively during the investigation, route selection, and build.  Planning focused on managing risks, working with residents, and keeping people informed.

Their experience in replacing water reticulation infrastructure was evident from the start. They were fully equipped to take advantage of directional drilling to minimise disruption, reflecting a commitment to value-driven solutions.  The team collaborated effectively with operations to ensure a positive and safe outcome.

Managing tie-in risks showcased their proactive mindset, while keeping stakeholders informed and demonstrating a strong community commitment.  An important focus was also maintained on the outcome of installing a new and resilient network.

We would like to thank J&R Contracting for their excellent work on these projects and for the positive working relationship we developed.  We look forward to working together in the future.

Peter Kukulsky, Project Manager, Watercare Services Limited

Gents, Just wanted to say big thank you and well done to both FH and J&R for pulling this work off at Pukekohe West BSP Project without any hiccups.

I was really impressed with the guys doing the work but also the level of planning and preparation that went into this task.

Mike Cope, Former Operations Manager, HEB

I have worked with J&R Contracting for the past 4 years in my previous role as Operations Manager at HEB Construction Ltd. J&R are a preferred Subcontractor to HEB for directional drilling and trenching works. In my experience J&R Contracting are a well managed and highly competent Civil Contracting Company .

Mark Anderson, Utilities Manager, Connectus

J&R have managed their work throughout construction with a great emphasis on H&S and Environment. They are always thinking about the surrounding conditions, and coming up with ways in which they can effectively and safely manage the traffic, pedestrians and noise in order to ensure that project resource consent conditions are met.

Will Simpson, Design Manager, Force Construction

I’ve just passed on the final invoice for payment following completion of the new water main install at Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club.

On that basis, can I also pass on my thanks to all at J&R Contracting for the professionalism in the way the contract was handled from start to finish despite the Client making significant changes along the way.

As you are aware, this was a high profile Client and the works were carried out in full view of not only the Club but also all of the members that were coming and going and so in particular I would also like to thank Jonas Savage for his handling of the install. Throughout the time on site, he ensured that the Client was kept informed of progress and of how the subsequent works would proceed, giving a daily briefing to their Manager. He was also conscious of Club needs with regard to tournaments and on occasion switched working hours and work areas around to accommodate their requests.

Over and above, his attention to Health and Safety also stood out, from the daily pre start meeting through to ensuring safe working conditions and protection of the public, (no mean feat given he was working through the main car park and then directly outside the main clubhouse through-fare). All together extremely well done and I’d be grateful if you could pass my thanks on to him.
